The Team
We are Barbara Torrente, a peacebuilder passionate about social justice and striving for collective care, and Emilian Walter, an experienced workshop facilitator in interpersonal communication, consent, and inclusivity. Our friendship started 17 years ago, in Toulouse, France. We grew up into adults with similar interests and complementary skills. Barbara has earned a Masters' degree in Peace and Conflict, and Emilian in Philosophy and Ethics. We are both public speakers, workshop facilitators, and passionate about Conflict Transformation.
After many years of following each other's professional journeys, we decided to channel our knowledge and experience in the same direction, and founded the Conflict Alchemy Project.

Barbara Torrente
She/Her
Based in Valencia, Spain
Speaks English, Spanish, French
Since her childhood, Barbara Torrente has always been a peace alchemist. She has used caring as a potent tool to transform any situation into dialogue. That innate power led her to a communication, information science degree and to specialise in conflict transformation by earning a Masters’ degree in international peace and conflict studies.
Her first mission took place in the cooperation field in Peru, supporting local initiatives for Female indigenous leaders to have access to their rights for participation and self-determination. She has also been working with migrant and refugees collectives for more than 6 years, as an intercultural mediator, translator and language teacher. During those years of experience, she developed strong leadership abilities and communication skills, which positioned her as a well-trained peace space curator for generating change. She is also an eternal learner, always inspired by diverse and inclusive views on conflict transformation.

They have been facilitating workshops since 2016 on the topics of Consent, Self-Exploration, Interpersonal Communication, Inclusivity, and Self-Care. They are involved in activism and community care in the queer and sex workers’ community. After completing a course on Peace Education, they integrated this new knowledge into their facilitation skills and philosophical frameworks.
